The Institute of Public Relations, Ghana will from Friday November 7, celebrate her 2008 Annual Week under the theme ' PR. Communication and Electioneering'

The annual week would be preceded by the Institute's Annual General Meeting scheduled for Friday November 7, 2008 at the African University College of Communications City Campus, Adabraka at 2:00 pm.

The Public Relations Week Celebration is an annual event that brings Public Relations Practitioners, Marketing Communicators and Experts together to take stock of the role the PR has played in the development of the country. These events enable practitioners to deliberate on how to position themselves adequately to contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation in the coming year.

The choice of this year's theme is timely and reflects the role of the communicator in the 7th December up-coming elections in the country.

The Minister for Information and National Orientation, Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng has been invited to chair the opening session of the Annual General Meeting. Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, Chairman of the Electoral Commission has also been invited as a Guest Speaker to the meeting.

Several dignitaries from both Ghana and abroad including practitioners of the profession as well as corporate members are expected to attend the event.
