Nana Afrane Okese IV, Paramount Chief of Ejisu Traditional Area, has called on politicians to use their political platforms to protect the peace in the country to facilitate the nation's development.

He said this on Thursday when Prof John Atta Mills, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, called on him at his palace at Ejisu as part of his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region

He advised politicians to desist from any act that could ruin the peace and stability and they should think about Ghana first now that they are fighting for political power.

Nana Okese said they should view themselves as people with one aim but using different methods to achieve them and that they should not encourage their supporters to attack followers of other parties.

Prof Mills assured the chief that there would be no way that NDC would do anything to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the country before, during and after the December elections and appealed to chiefs to pray for peaceful election in December.

He introduced Madam Anima Wilson, NDC parliamentary candidate for Ejisu Juaben, to the people at a rally after the call on the chief.
