Major Courage Quashigah, (Rtd) Minister of Health, on Tuesday called for the introduction of Health and Nutrition subjects in schools to lead the way in the country's Regenerative Health Programme.

He said it would have an immediate impact on society as students would be taught to adopt healthy lifestyles recommended by the Regenerative Health and Nutrition Programme.

Maj. Quashigah said this when a South African delegation which is in the country to understudy the Regenerative Health Programme of the Ministry called on him.

He said there was the need to recognize that, the Regenerative Health and Nutrition Programme was not new to the African culture as “our forefathers had practiced the regenerative health lifestyle before.”

Mr Brian Hlongwa, leader of the South African delegation, said they were in the country to see how the country had implemented the Programme and see if they could also learn from the experience.

Regenerative Health and Nutrition Programme was introduced by the Ministry of Health as a holistic approach to promoting health, strengthening immunity and as an important means of addressing the high burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
