Presidential Candidates To Address Symposium

PRESIDENTIAL  Candidates of the main political parties are to speak at a symposium on their role in the attainment of a peaceful general election in Accra on Friday, October 31.

The symposium, to be organised by the Editor's Forum, Ghana, is on the topic: “Towards a peaceful election 2008: My party's contribution, the way forward”.

A release signed by Ms Ajoa Yeboah-Afari, Interim Chairperson of the forum, said the symposium would be chaired by His Eminence Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson, chairman of the Ghana Peace Council, and moderated by Kwaku Sakyi Addo.

Presidential candidates to participate in the symposium are: Nana Akufo-Addo of t he New Patriotic Party. Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, National Democratic Congress; Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Convention People's Party; Dr Edward Mahama, People's National Convention; Mr Thomas Ward-Brew, Democratic People's Party; Mr Emmanuel Ansah-Antwi, Democratic Freedom Party, and Mr Kwabena Adjei, Reformed Patriotic Democratic.

The release said the symposium is to complement  other initiatives in the country  awards achieving a peaceful general election.
