Financial Community Commends Guinness Ghana

The financial community yesterday commended Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd, for their performance at 'Facts Behind the Figures' presentation held at the Ghana Stock Exchange in Accra yesterday.

The facts behind the figures is a time set for listed companies on the exchange to throw more light on the operational figures of their companies to the financial community.

The company's volume of growth went up by nine per cent while the company's turnover appreciated by 31 per cent from GH¢125 million in 2007 to GH¢164 million in 2008 financial year which ended in June this year.

Profit before tax increased by 52 per cent over last year to GH¢23.1 million.

Profit after tax increased by 18 per cent over last year to GH¢16.7 million.

Contributions to national revenue comprising excise duty, sales tax/VAT including reconstruction levy went up by 25 per cent.

Commenting on the company's year-end performance, the Managing Director, Mr Seni Adetu stated “The continuing improvement in the Ghanaian economy creates a strong base for growth in the industry.
