Mr Degraft Forkuo, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Asante Akim South, has debunked claims that a National Democratic Congress (NDC) government would scrap most policies of the present government when voted into power.
He said the allegations were a calculated attempt to jeopardize the NDC's chances of winning the December 7, 2008 election by its detractors and urged Ghanaians to disregard “such cheap political gimmicks”.
Mr Forkuo was speaking at the inauguration of Forkuo Fan Club at Ofoase near Banso on Sunday.
The fan club, which is mainly made up of the youth and has a membership of 300, is to among other things canvas for votes for Mr Forkuo in the forth coming general election.
Commenting on the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), Mr Forkuo said, the NDC would secure legal backing for the programme and ensured beneficiaries were permanently employed.
He said the programme under the NDC would be devoid of favouritism and be accessible to all job seekers irrespective of political affiliation.
Mr Forkuo said the NDC was committed to job creation especially for the youth and would pursue policies that would align existing structures geared towards job creation.
He implored the youth to vote massively for the NDC, saying the best party which places premium on the youth development.
