Obuasi CPP picks Kenya

THE OBUASI office of the Convention People's (CPP), last week Monday, by popular acclamation, elected Mr. David Kenya as its parliamentary candidate for the 2008 elections.

The Municipal Electoral Officer, Mr. Francis Addai Boateng, supervised the election, which was conducted at the party's constituency office.

In attendance were Messrs S. K. Danso and Salifu Beidaw, the party's Ashanti Regional Chairman and Obuasi Constituency Chairman respectively.

The Regional Chairman of the party, appealed to the supporters to ensure peace at all times, to pave the way for the party to win the lections.

“We cannot win political power when we are divided, and that is why I am appealing to you to preach about unity and peace.”

Mr. Danso urged them to embark on a door-to-door campaign, to enable them reach more people, and hoped the party's victory on December 7, would begin from Obuasi.

The parliamentary candidate-elect, who is currently the assembly member for the Sampsonkrom Electoral Area and Chairman of the Works Sub-Committee of the Obuasi Municipal Assembly, thanked the supporters for the confidence reposed in him, and promised to win the seat for the party.
