Madam Rose Otchere, Headmistress of Topease Junior High School in the Eastern Region, has noted that the development of children could not be accomplished by mothers and teachers alone, but with the concerted efforts and support of stakeholders in the society.
She was interacting with a cross-section of parents of students of the school.
Madam Otchere noted that when parents and guardians recognised the rights and privileges of the child, they could seek the services of trained early childhood developers, such as day care attendants.
She urged stakeholders in education to take active interest in the training of children.
According to her, if parents invested in their children, they could make good use of the acquired knowledge and experience to help make childhood education delightful and enjoyable.
The Headmistress stated that it was paramount for stakeholders to disabuse the notion that expensive funerals were better than the education of their children, saying, "Education brings progress and development".
