Government assists West Akyem Municipal Assembly on educational infrastructure

Government has approved for the construction of a two-storey girls' dormitory for Asamankese Senior High School at a cost of 510,000 Ghana cedis as well as work on a 68,282 Ghana cedis computer laboratory for the school.

Mr Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye, West Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, announced this when addressing a meeting of the assembly at Asamankese on Wednesday.

He said government recognized the need to equip schools in rural areas to be upgraded as their counterparts in urban areas to ensure students had equal access to quality education.

Mr Sintim-Aboagye said in pursuance of that objective, government had approved the construction of a 250,000 Ghana cedis assembly hall and a 200,000 Ghana cedis dining hall for Adeiso Presbyterian Senior High School, work on those projects was expected to begin before the end of the year.

He said a 170 Ghana cedi Golden Jubilee Kindergarten School project had been awarded on contract at Asamankese, while renovation and modernization of the assembly had begun at a cost of 171,144 Ghana cedis.
