Nana Kwesi Essiem IV, chief of Whindo near Takoradi has called on Ghanaians to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections in December.
He urged political party leaders, chiefs, leaders of religious groups and civil society organisations to assist the Electoral Commission (EC), to organise successful elections.
Nana Essiem, speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Takoradi on Monday, said the international community was expecting Ghana to carry out credible elections to deepen its democratic dispensation.

He urged Ghanaians to have confidence in the EC, Judiciary security agencies and other stakeholders to ensure credible polls.

Nana Essiem urged parents to advise their children not to allow themselves to be misused by self-seeking politicians to foment trouble.

He said the traditional rulers of the area have planned a programme to educate the people on the need for free, fair and violent-free polls.
