The United States Ambassador Donald Gene Teitelbaum on Friday paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Sheikh I C Quaye, to introduce himself to him as the new Ambassador to Ghana.
The Ambassador, who had been in Accra for four weeks now, said he was going to help strengthen the relationship between the US and Ghana.
Mr. Teitelbaum noted that the US had been successful in wiping out malaria, stressing that malaria would be wiped out depending on how Ghanaians lived their lives and control their environment. He advised that the environment must not be polluted and habits that breed mosquitoes should be stopped.
He also urged the Government to create awareness by organizing workshops for people to know more about the causes of malaria and how the disease can affect their lives - and even lead to their death.
In response to the Ambassador's statements, Sheikh I.C Quaye said the relationship with the US had reached its highest level, indicating that the American President was helping to eradicate malaria.
