Parliament is expected to reconvene next Tuesday for four weeks to warp up business on various loan agreements and bills including an Electoral Commission (Amendment) bill.

The Northern Development Fund Bill, the Mutual Legal Assistant and Internal Revenue (Amendment) Bills are other businesses to be considered during this session.

Mr Jones Kugblenu, Director of Public Affairs at Parliament, told the GNA in an interview that this session would be short since the House would have to break on November 7 to enable Members of Parliament go back to their constituencies to campaign for the December 7 general election.

The House would then reconvene a few days after the elections and then take a Christmas break before the dissolution of this Parliament early January, 2009.

On Tuesday, when the House sits, members would mourn the loss of their colleague Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, the late Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, who died last week.
