An educationist has said the performance of students at the Junior High School (JHS) level could not be improved upon in isolation, without linking it with corresponding improvements in the quality of infrastructure and equipment.
Mr. Benjamin Adu Ofosu, Headmaster of Gye Wani Nkwanta District Assembly School near Akim Oda, asked the citizens, both residents and non-residents,
to support government's efforts at improving physical infrastructure and conditions favourable for quality education.
The Headmaster, who made the call at a Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) meeting of the school here on Monday appealed to parents to pay their wards' school fees on time to enable the administration to continue to provide quality education for the children.
He stated: "The school would continue to practice open administration", and called on parents not to hesitate to call at the school whenever they were confronted with any issue concerning their wards.
He charged parents to instil discipline in their children and not to pamper them, adding that the nation needed students who were dedicated, well disciplined and who were prepared at all times to serve the nation.
Mr. Ofosu said children could pay back the huge investments being made on them by their parents, by studying hard to lay a solid foundation for the future.
Nana Asare Bentum III, Chief of Gye Wani Nkwanta asked the teachers not only to impart knowledge and skills, but also assist the children to acquire the attributes of moral uprightness such as honesty, truthfulness and integrity
