A first year student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been reported dead in his room at the Unity Hall in the University.
The student, Dauda Muweri, a Political Science student, is said to be in his thirties.
The Secretary of the hall, Olagana Moses told Joy News that he was in his room when a room mate of Dauda alerted him that something was going on in their room.
He said when he rushed to the room they realised Dauda was stiff, indicating he was dead.
According to the hall secretary, Dauda's room-mate explained while they were leaving for church service Monday morning, the student was asleep.
He said on their return, he was still asleep while his mobile phone was ringing repeatedly.
Attempts to wake him up to receive his phone call fell on deaf ears, alarming them, the students reported.
Mr. Olagana said suspecting that Dauda was dead, he called on some other students who assisted him to convey him to University's hospital where he was confirmed dead.
