Tolerate Each Other's Views – Director

The Kwahu West Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Mr Thomas Ba-Innimayeh, has called on Ghanaians to tolerate each others view to help promote peace in the country, before, during and after the December general elections.
     

He said since the country has opted for a multi-party system of democracy, people should be prepared to tolerate opposing views.
     

Mr Ba-Innimayeh was addressing an educational programme for political parties and a cross section of the people on political tolerance organised by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly at Nkawkaw.     
     

The Co-ordinating Director said the concept of political pluralism expects that no ideology should be declared bad until the electorate decide so through an election and therefore urged political groups to tolerate each other.
     

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nkawkaw, Kwabena Adusah Okerchiri said parliament has no power to enact a law for the establishment of a one party state in the country under the current constitution of the country.
     

He therefore urged supporters of the various political parties to tolerate each others view for a credible party to be elected to rule the country.
     

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Mr Joseph Nkansah Boamah called for politics devoid of bitterness in the constituency to improve the education and health needs of the people in the area, while the Convention People's Party (CPP) candidate, Mr Dennis Ampomah advised other politicians to avoid the use of propaganda that put fear and intimidate the electorate.
     

The Municipal NCCE Director, Mr Amoah Temeng advised supporters of  political parties to comport themselves at their rallies to ensure peace and tolerance during their campaign.
