More than 10,000 eligible voters register in Nkoranza north and south

A total of 10,024 eligible voters registered during the recent limited voters’ registration in Nkoranza North and South Districts.

Mr. Kofi Frimpong, district electoral officer, told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that the figure comprised 5,537 males and 4,487 females.

He said about 3,239 voters made up of 1,799 males and 1,440 females were registered in Nkoranza North and that 3,099 of them had their photographs taken with the others to be taken later.

Mr Frimpong said 6,785 people comprising 3,738 males and 3,047 females registered in Nkoranza South and that that 6,138 of them had their pictures taken.

He said 11 challenge forms were filled during the exercise, explaining that the district registration review committee would deliberate on the cases to ensure that a fair decision is taken.

Mr. Frimpong commended the youth in the two districts for comporting themselves during the exercise, saying the Electoral Commission had never recorded any electoral violence in the area for the past years.

He urged the people to maintain the spirit to ensure that the elections in the area would be incident-free.
