The Subin parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Isaac Osei, has visited and sympathised with victims of the fuel tanker accident, which resulted in an explosion, in Kumasi.

He was at the Adom Mbroso Cold Stores, where the fire gutted the Administration Block of the company, causing extensive damage to office equipment.

The parliamentary candidate also visited fishmongers, whose wares were destroyed by the raging fire, before he visited those who sustained various degrees of burns and injuries, at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

He has earmarked GH¢10,000, of his campaign funds, for the rehabilitation of their businesses.

Mr. Osei also donated GH¢2,500 to the fishmongers, to replace their ovens, totaling about 57.

He said, once he was given the mandate to represent constituents of Subin in Parliament, he would liaise with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), to ensure that such incidences were brought to the barest minimum, through periodic public education on the dangers of fire.

At KATH, the aspiring parliamentarian also donated GH¢2,000, to victims on admission receiving medical treatment from burns, caused by the accident.

Dr. Joseph Apaloo, a Plastic Surgeon in charge of the Intensive Unit Care of KATH, commended the aspiring Member of Parliament for his concern.

He appealed to the general public to take precautions against fire, in order to protect lives and property at all times.
