Nana Sakyi Asante, Regent of Anoma-Kwajo, near Asamankese in the West Akyem Municipality, at the weekend appealed to the government to provide the National Commission for Civic Education with adequate resources to enable it effectively perform its constitutional function of civic education.

Nana Asante held that currently, the Commission's role was perceived to be important only in times of election, a situation he said, made it difficult for it to make any meaningful impact.

He made these remarks at a forum organized by the National Commission for Civic Education at Anoma-Kwajo to educate the electorate on the forthcoming general election.

He said for any country to strive in development, the citizenry must be helped to understand the issues on governance and facilitated to live up to their civic responsibilities.

Nana Asante advised his people not to allow politics to divide them.

Mr. Kwaku Adu-Amankwah, district NCCE director, appealed to the people not to indulge in election malpractices such as double voting or wearing of party regalia to the polls
