Teleko Bokazo, Anwia land would not be destroyed by mining

The people of Teleko Bokazo, Anwia and Nkroful in the Ellembenle District have been assured that the vegetation cover of the land in the area would not be destroyed by mining activities.
The chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Environment, Science and Technology, Mr. Kwame Owusu Frempong, said this at a forum organized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to deepen the understanding of the people on mining at Teleko Bokazo.
He appealed to people to cooperate with the Adamus Resources, currently prospecting for gold in the area.
The chief of the Teleko Bokazo, Nana Avo Kwaw II, appealed to Adamus Resources, to employ more people from the area when the company starts mining and to give children in the area scholarship up to tertiary level.
The Chief Operation Officer of the Adamus Resources, Mr, Mac Cornelin, said the company would initiate development projects in the area to improve the living condition of the people.

An Environmental Manager from the EPA headquarters, Nana A. C. Andor, said EPA would ensure that the land was not destroyed by the company beyond repairs and appealed to the company to adequately compensate the people and ensure their environmental safety.
