Mr Bob-Charles Agbontor has been confirmed as the Jasikan District Chief Executive at an emergency meeting of the assembly last Wednesday.
Mr Agbontor, a Chief Quantity Surveyor at the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing, polled 20 votes out of the 29 and this represented 69 percent of votes cast.
Mr Agbontor called for support for efforts he would make to to fix the chieftaincy challenges, roads, education and health problems of the district.
Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, congratulated the assembly-members for endorsing Mr Agbontor's nomination.
Mr Ford Kamel, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Buem, said the exercise was healthy, victory for development and expressed the hope that an agenda above partisan politics would be pursued.
