66 Artillery Regiment deepens civil military relations… Provides reading glasses to Kpenoe Community

The 66 Artillery Regiment has been undertaking various activities, to create good relations between the military and the civil society, as the Artillery Regiment, in collaboration with the United States Army Attaché to the Embassy in Ghana, have presented reading glasses to some members of the Kpenoe community, in the Ho municipality.

The Officer in Charge of Community Relations at the 66 Artillery Regiment, Capt. Nuetty Abtade Dottey, and Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Battiston of the U.S Army, presented the glasses to the people, including women, men and children, who were suffering from various degrees of eye diseases.

Addressing the people Lt. Col. Battiston said the joint programme, formed part of an outreach programme dubbed “Medical civil action programme,” to help improve on the health of the people, in order to enhance their health status for productivity.

Capt. Dottey, said the Regiment was committed to the development of communities in the region, to support them in their community-initiated projects, as a way of improving on the relationship between the military and civil society.

The Paramount Chief of the Kpenoe Traditional Area, Togbe Kotoku VII, commended the 66 Regiment for the support, noting that such assistance would go a long way, to help those suffering from various degrees of eye problems, to have their defects corrected.
