THE leadership of three institutions, yesterday paid visits to the Cantonments residence of the former Speaker of Parliament, Peter Ala Adjetey, to console the family.
They are, Mrs Georgina Theodora Woode, Chief Justice, Mr Clement Tedam a Member of the Council of State and Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson, the Catholic Bishop of Cape Coast.
Mrs Cecilia Bannerman, a Member of the Council of State, said that by his death Ghana had lost an illustrious son, a legal luminary and an astute politician whose contribution to democracy in the country has been enormous.
She said Mr Ala Adjetey served his country well as a statesman and was known as a man of principle.
Both Cardinal Turkson and Chief Justice Georgina Wood expressed their condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family.
Cardinal Turkson prayed for the family.
They all signed the Book of Condolence.
