Members of the Muslim Community at Akim Osino in the Fanteakwa District have constructed a 2,000 Ghana cedis Mosque.
Mallam Awudu Iddrisu, Project Officer, speaking to Ghana News Agency at Akim Osino said the Government of Saudi Arabia assisted them with roofing sheets, iron rods and cement while the community provided communal labour.
Alhaji Moro, an Opinion Leader in the community expressed appreciation to the Saudi Government and announced that a watch-dog committee had been formed to curb activities of armed robbery, protect life and property, assist the aged farmers and undertake communal labour to improve sanitation in the town.
Mallam Iddrisu Isaka, a member of the community, commended Government for the introduction of the Capitation Grant, School Feeding Programme and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
He stressed the need for efforts to sustain and enhance the programmes.
