Mr Africanus Mensah, a Petroleum Engineer and a member of the Essikadu Royal Family, on Wednesday presented a cheque for 10,000 United States dollars to the Western Regional House of Chiefs as seed money for the establishment of a limited liability company.

He donated a further 5,000 dollars towards the Kwame Nkrumah Education Trust.

Mr Peter Perkin Cann, an Industrial Technologist, made the presentation on behalf of Mr Mensah to Awulae Attibrukusu 111, President of the Regional House of Chiefs at Essikado.

He said, Mr Mensah found it necessary to contribute towards the setting up of the company by the Regional House of Chiefs, to enable them to take advantage of the oil find in the region and other investment opportunities, to generate funds to supplement the development efforts of the government.

Mr Cann said the youth in the region should be equipped with skills relevant to the petroleum industry, so that they could gain employment when oil and gas exploration in the region begins.

He said, Mr Mensah was planning to set up an oil and gas technical training facility in the region to help train Ghanaians in oil and gas technology.

Awulae Attibrukusu thanked Mr Mensah for the donation, saying, it would be invested in viable areas to improve the finances of the Regional House of Chiefs and place it in a better position to contribute towards the development of the region and the country.
