Danquah extends stay at Newcastle

Ghana-born striker Frank Wiafe Danquah has penned a new two-year deal with English Premier League side Newcastle United.

The 17-year-old, who was part of the Magpies second team last season, was handed the deal because of his impressive performance.

"It may have taken some time, but I finally got what I have always wanted to achieve and that is to earn a place as player in professional football," Danquah said.

The youngster is eligible to play for his country of birth but his agent Winnie Haastrecht emphasises that Danquah holds the Dutch nationality.

"I hope he will now get a Holland Under-19 call up," Haastrecht added.
