The Private Newspaper Publishers Association (PRINPAG) on Monday congratulated President John Agyekum Kufuor for
conferring national honours and awards on three of its members.
A statement signed by Mr. Kenteman Nii-Laryea Sowah, Executive Secretary
of the Association said it had noted with pride and utmost satisfaction the national honours and awards conferred on Mrs Gina Blay, Managing Editor of the Daily Guide and President of the Association; Mr Malik Kweku Baako (Jnr), Managing Editor of the Crusading Guide and Mr Haruna Attah, Managing Editor of Accra Daily Mail.
They have been named under the category of the Order of The Volta as testimony to their immense contribution to Media Freedom and Democratic Governance for the past two decades.
The statement also congratulated Mr. Ransford Tetteh, President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), as well as Mr Kwame Sefa-Kayi of Peace FM and Mr Randy Abbey of Metro TV for their nomination for national awards.
The PRINPAG said it hoped other media practitioners and newspaper publishers would strive hard to contribute their best to help entrench good democratic governance through a more patriotic and improved media practice to enable them to also gain national recognition in the coming years.
