People of Obawale initiate moves for better health service

Obawale (E/R), June 26, GNA - The people of Obawale in the Upper Manya District have started to build a 16,500 Ghana-cedi two semi-detached nurses' quarters to help provide accommodation for nurses posted to the Obawale Health Centre.
The Community Based Rural Development Project (CBRDP) is supporting the project with 15,000 Ghana cedis while the district assembly is to provide 1,000 Ghana cedis with the community providing 500 Ghana cedis in the form of labour.
The project, which was started in May and has reached window level, is expected to be completed within 90 days.
Speaking to the press at Obawale after communal labour by the community, the Assemblyman for the area, Mr John Dongotey, expressed the hope that the project would be completed by July.
The Obawale Health Centre consists of a two-room building where one of the rooms is serving as the consulting, delivery and lying-in ward and the other room serves as the residence of the midwife.
