Launch of ‘The Royal Akyem Kingdom, Ghana’

The glitz and glamour, which engulfed the
Banquet Hall, of the State
House last Friday, at the launch of the book 'The Royal Akyem Kingdom' was unbelievable.

Not only present was the crème dela crème of the Ghanaian society, the atmosphere which was full of culture display, drumming and dancing, from traditional dancers, said it all.

The book entitled, 'The Royal Akyem Kingdom, Ghana', written by Kwasi Amfo-Kwakye was specially compiled to showcase the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, and its environs.

At the launch, it was revealed that this unprecedented masterpiece would enlighten its readers about the rich history and culture of the kingdom, as well as the ancestral lineage of the kings who have ruled in the Akyem land.

In a brief introduction, and summery about the book by Nana Asante Bediatuo, a Legal Practitioner, noted the book highlighted the tourist attraction sites in Okyenman, and the economic resources of the land.

Including the profiles and endeavours of the various District Assemblies, and the investment opportunities available, it also pays homage to some of the illustrious sons and daughters Okyenman has begotten over the years.

'The Royal Akyem Kingdom, Ghana' talks about Akyem Abuakwa land management systems, and some of the new policies introduced by the current Monarch, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, since his ascension to the throne nearly a decade ago, and whose relentless fight against environment degradation, the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and the poor education and health standards in the lives of the Ghanaian, have yielded laudable results in Ghana, Africa, and the world over.
