Residents of Oboango in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District of the Eastern Region, on Saturday undertook a clean-up exercise, in which they weeded and swept the surroundings and cleared choked gutters.
Mr Owusu Kissi, opinion leader of the community, commended the people for their communal spirit and said the exercise would be organised regularly to improve upon sanitation.
He asked the people to keep their homes and environment clean always since cleanliness was next to Godliness.
Mr. Kissi also urge them to unite towards the development of the community since government alone could not provide the community with all its developmental needs.
He asked the people to support the Unit Committee and assembly in their efforts to improve sanitation in the community.
