June 4, 1979 - June 4, 2008: What difference the years make
The date June 4 is a red letter day in the lives of many Ghanaians.
Relatives of, and the men and women who were stripped naked and whipped on the nation's streets, tortured to death, have simply disappeared to date or had their businesses auctioned for a song in the heat of the June 4, 1979 bloody military coup would doubtless rather not remember this day.
But how has the man who inspired and led the coup, oversaw the execution of three former heads of state and senior military officers as well as countless others for 'offences' such as having more than one water closet toilet in their homes and contracting a legitimate bank loan fared?
