A 34-YEAR-OLD electrician who visited a friend at Abossey Okai, was severely beaten by co-tenants of the house, who mistook him for a thief.
David Kwaku Asare who came from Kpong to visit his friend, Kwesi James, but did not find him at home, decided to wait for him.
For three days, he was in the house without introducing himself to the tenants.
On the third day, Asare who decided to sleep in front of his friend’s room because of the heat, went to the toilet in the night and while there, the tenants heard an unusual noise which made them come out and confront him.
The answers he gave to their questions did not convince them and they gave him severe beatings.
Ebenezer Oppong in charge of the Kaneshie Divisional Police Station in Accra yesterday disclosed this to the Times.
He said, two of suspects were arrested in connection with assaulting Asare.
Edward Ofei, 26, carpenter and Isaac Sekyi, 26, a factory labourer, have been remanded in police custody to be sent to court soon.
Mr Oppong said they have been charged with causing unlawful harm to the victim.
