A 25-year-old farmer, Kofi Adoli, has appeared before the Asamankese Circuit court for inflicting cutlass wounds on his stepfather.
Adoli pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally and unlawfully causing harm to Larnyo Adoli.
The Presiding judge, Mr Kofi Akrowiah, deferred sentence and remanded accused to await review of complainant's condition. He will on re-appear on June 11.
Police Chief Inspector Kate Ogyiri said both Kofi and Larnyo lived at Okotokrom, a village near Asamankese.
She said recently the accused refused to assist his step father on his farm and that annoyed the stepfather and he asked the accused to leave his house which he did.
In the night of May 17 whilst the stepfather was asleep with his wife, Kofi sneaked into his room through the ceiling.
The stepfather woke up and took his cutlass to chase the intruder but realizing that it was his stepson he did not attack him.
Rather he went to the house of the “Mmrantehene” of the village to report the conduct of the accused.
Whilst the stepfather was in the house of the “Mmerantehene” Kofi followed up, collected a cutlass and inflicted two deep wounds on the neck of the stepfather.
He was taken to St Dominic's Hospital, Akwatia where he was admitted.
