THE BANTAMA Sub-Metro Mutual Health Insurance Scheme has launched new identification card (ID Card), which has security features, to enable service providers detect fraud in the accessing of health delivery with the IDs.

The new ID, which can safely be described as a visa to quality, and accessible healthcare, has a biometric strip to ensure easy information search.

The Scheme Manager at the Bantama Sub-Metro, Mr. Stephen P. Jalulah, noted that the scheme, which started in October 2004 with 541 persons, has so far registered 21,800 beneficiaries.

He appealed to opinion leaders, pastors and traditional rulers, to encourage their subjects to register with the scheme.

Mrs. Leticia Osei Poku, Regional Manager of the Scheme, announced that there were 145 hospitals cooperating to make the scheme functional.

She said the new cards are accepted at all health facilities, and advised beneficiaries to keep their IDs well, by handling them properly, and protect them from loss and damage.
