The president of the Ghana Pool Association (GPA) Papa Arkhurst has stated that, in a bid to promote the sport in the country, his outfit will soon visit some Junior High Schools (JHS) and Senior High Schools (SHS) to promote the sport which is fast gaining grounds in the country.
He said the association is in touch with some heads of schools in the Greater Accra Region and soon the technical director of the association will visit the schools to promote the sport among the students and also provide them with pool boards for their use.
According to him, the success of what he calls the pilot project, will see the association move their promotion to other schools in the country.
The association will also visit all pubs and community centres throughout the region and places where the game is mostly played to bring together all pool players under the association.
Mr. Arkhurst said a feasibility study conducted by the association, indicated that pool clubs in the country operate on individual basis.
