Kwame Amponfi Jnr. Secretary General of the Association, told the Statesports that the equipment, yet to be cleared from the Tema Harbour, would compliment the efforts of the National Sports Council in the developing and promotion of the sport in the country.

"It is in our strategic plan to have talks with the Chinese government to offer a six-month training progarmme for our coach and the best eight junior players', he disclosed.

He said the national Under 15 team that won bronze medal at the African Junior Championships in Egypt had qualified for the World Junior Championship slated for October, this year.

Mr Amprofi said companies like GOIL, SIC and COCOBOD had pledged their support for the Association in its preparation for the All African Seniors Table Tennis Championship in DR Congo in December.

He commended Akosombo Textiles Limited for its sponsorship package for the 2008 Table Tennis League that would start within the next few weeks.
