Pupils to engage in story writing to improve communication skills

Begoro, May 13, GNA – The Fanteakwa District Directorate of Education will from this term, introduce a weekly story writing programme in the basic schools to enable the pupils improve on their communication skills.
Miss Mary Animwah, District Director of Education said this at a breakfast meeting of staff of the directorate at Begoro on Tuesday.
The meeting was to discuss strategies to improve quality education in the district.
Ms Animwah said the programme would help pupils to prepare and participate in national essay competitions, which no pupil in the district had ever competed in.
She said every pupil from primary six to Junior High School (JHS) two would be provided with exercise books for the programme.
Ms Animwah urged teachers to ensure that they marked the stories of their pupils every Friday to ascertain their writing capabilities.
She appealed to head-teachers to co-operate with the authorities to make the programme a success.
