The Assistant Commissioner in charge of Training of the International Revenue Service Sefah Agyebeng has called on Private School proprietors to educate themselves on how tax payments are made.

This will help them ascertain the correct way of submitting their returns to the service within the required period. Mr. Agyebeng was speaking at a Tax Education Seminar for Private School Proprietors in Koforidua.

It was on the theme: your tax Returns – A fair way of Assessing your Income Tax”. He said tax returns are an official statement of information from any individual on chargeable taxes under the tax laws to enable meaningful assessment to be made of the person's tax obligation.

The Eastern Regional Director of the Internal Revenue Service, Mrs. Patience Quaye said the aim of the seminar is to encourage corporate organisations and small scale business enterprises to complete and file their tax returns by the end of April every year.
