THE Rotary Club of Accra Airport yesterday donated books worth 4,000 Euros to the Akotoshie Basic School in the Ga West District to assist the school to stock its library.

The books are mainly English readers.

Making the presentation, John Totoe, president of the Rotary Club of Accra Airport said the club is concerned with the development of education in the country, particularly in deprived communities.

He said the club adopted the school three years ago and had been assisting it by providing it with certain facilities to aid teaching and learning.

Mr Totoe commended the management and staff of the school for their hard work in impacting knowledge to the pupils.

Receiving the items, the headmistress, Ms Evelyn Dogbatse, thanked the club for its continuous support for the school and pledged that the books will be used to educate the pupils.

The chief of Opah, Nii Ayitey Okoansro, commended the club for its support for the school and appealed to other organisations to emulate the Rotary Club’s example and help to develop the school.
