Germany to represent Estonia in Ghana

28.04.2008 LISTEN
By Accra Mail

As of May 1 2008, the German Embassy in Accra would issue Schengen Visas representing Estonia.

The embassy has announced that Ghanaians as well as residents of third countries in Ghana whishing to travel to Estonia for a visit or business not exceeding 90 days should call at the Visa Reception Centre for an appointment and apply at the German Embassy's visa section.

In a press release last week, the Embassy said in accordance with Schengen rules, it is only in a position to issue visas on behalf of Estonia. Should the German Embassy not be in a position to issue a visa, the applicant is free to apply at the Estonian Embassy in London directly. All documents in Estonian language must be translated into English or German.

Appeals and complaints, however, have to be directed to the Estonian Embassy in London and will neither be answered nor forwarded by the German Embassy in Accra. Visa applications for any other purposes (employment, study, family reunion, long stay exceeding 90 days etc.) are handled by the Estonian Embassy in London directly.
