Princess Of Thailand Donates To Otumfuo Education Fund

Her Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Crown Princess of Thailand, yesterday presented an undisclosed amount to the Otumfuo Education Fund.  She made the donation when she called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at an Asanteman Council meeting  in
Kumasi.
     

Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, the Ashanti Regional Minister who made the presentation, said he received the money during a courtesy call her Highness paid on him at his office, after he had informed her of the fund.
     

Touching on the Princess visit to Ghana, the Regional Minister said the Princess who is the daughter of King Bhumipol of Thailand, is in the country to participate in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in
Accra.
   

Nana Gyamfi Ababio, Adontenhene of Ashanti on behalf of Otumfuo Osei Tutu, called for cultural and economic exchanges programmes between Ashantis and
Thailand.
     

In a speech delivered on her behalf, the Princess said she was prepared to support Otumfuo Osei Tutu's initiative, especially in Information Communications Technology.
