The Nduom for President 2008 team have made a second appearance at the Western Region during the 1st quarter of the team's just ended nationwide campaign tour.

The team had earlier visited the Ahanta Traditional area where it visited Sekondi, Dixcove, Shama and its environs; Ellembelle, Jomoro and Evalue Gwira in the Nzema Traditional Area and the Wassa Traditional area where the team visited Tarkwa-Nsuam and its environs.

The team toured the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area during it second visit to the Western Region. It started at the Wassa Akropong, Wassa Hemang, Prestea-Huni Valley and Bogoso.

At Wassa Akropong, Dr Nduom and his team visited the Palace- Bassanyin Ahenfie, of the Paramount Chief of the town, Nana Kasapreko Kwame Bassayin and then followed it up with courtesy calls on the Paramount Chief of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area at Hemang and the Chief Imam of Prestea.

He addressed market women and the GPRTU at Wassa Akropong as well as mini rallies at Wassa Akropong, Prestea and Bogoso,

The Chief of Wassa Akropong disclosed that the Bamboo Factory which once served as the main livelihood of the people of Wassa Akropong was in total ruins and hoped a CPP administration will revive the Bamboo industry when it comes to power next year.

"The CPP administration did a lot for us. After the overthrow of the CPP, many of the factories that were built were left to rot and we believed your administration will help revive these industries", Kasapareko Bassayin told Dr. Nduom.

He later took the CPP Presidential Candidate to a cottage Bamboo industry that he had built near his Palace.

The Zongo Community at Prestea was all elated at Dr. Nduom's visit. The Chief Imam recounted some of the good things that he as a young teenager saw during the reign of Dr. Nkrumah and the CPP and prayed for Dr. Nduom to lead the new CPP to win this year's polls in order to continue with the many good things that the CPP did before it was overthrown.

Dr. Nduom, who visited the Traditional Authorities and the Chief Imam to seek their blessing and prayers in his quest to win power, assured them of his total commitment to their concerns but stressed that that would "only materialise if you help me to win the December presidential and parliamentary polls".

Addressing mini-rallies at Wassa Akropong, Prestea and Bogoso, Dr. Nduom said the only way to restore back the dignity of these mining communities was to give back the governance of the country to a CPP administration".

"No government can boast of giving jobs to Ghanaians than the CPP. Even now the very jobs that the CPP received serious flaks for creating are being re-packaged", he said.

"If that is the case", Dr. Nduom disclosed, "then the job should be given back to the owners because they know how to create and cater properly for such jobs".
