Signal International Ghana Limited, sole distributor of Vatan Cable Incorporated of Turkey's electrical cables, is anticipating setting up a manufacturing company in Ghana to service its clients across the West Africa sub-region before 2010, Ismail Kazdagli, Managing Director of the company has told CITY & BUSINESS GUIDE.

The move is expected to heighten competition in the industry where Nexans Cable and Tropical Cable and Conductor Limited seem to be dominating.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Kazdagli said the company which has been operating in the country since 2002, would promote its brand in Ghana and the sub-region as a whole in order to attract more markets.

According to him, his outfit has realized the potential of its business in the West Africa sub-region, especially where the construction industry in Ghana and neighbouring countries is booming.

In 2007, Vatan Cable Incorporated, which was established in 1975 in Turkey, set up a warehouse in Accra and started supplying its products such as single core conduit cables and multi core PVC cables among others to distributors or dealers.

Mr. Kazdagli added that “boosting our supplies triggered the decision to expand our tentacles”.

He pointed out that his outfit's objective is to supply quality electrical cables according to international standards.

Vatan Cables are certified with ISO 14001, ISO 9001 quality assurance management and environment management systems.

Its quality has been approved by the Intuition of Standard of Turkey as well as tested and accepted by the Ghana Standards Board.

In its 32 years of existence, Vatan Cable Incorporated has been manufacturing from 300V up to 35KV nominal voltage copper cables.
