A Kumasi Circuit Court has remanded four youth including a lady into prison custody for stealing a lap top computer, its accessories, GH¢720.

Kwaku Dennis and Eric Twum Kissiedu pleaded guilty to conspiracy and stealing and they were convicted on their own plea but sentence was deferred.

Amponsah Wireko, 22, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges, whilst Elizabeth Asenso Agyemang also pleaded not guilty to dishonestly receiving the items.

All four were refused bail and will re-appear on February 19.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Owusu Manu told the court presided over by Mr. Ernest Yao Obimpe that the complainant, Mary Nsiah Asare, a student on January 6, detected the loss of some from her residence.

The items included her Toshiba “Pentium M” computer costing GH¢1,200, an ipod costing GH¢360, Digital camera costing GH¢440, a pen drive costing GH¢160 and a pair of canvas shoes worth GH¢100 in addition to a cash of GH¢720.

He said the complainant confronted Dennis who admitted stealing them on separate occasions.

Later, the canvas shoes and GH¢50 were retrieved form him and he was handed over to the police, leading to the arrest of the others.

Some of the items in addition to GH¢650 have been retrieved.
