Five persons died on the spot when an articulator truck loaded with empty bottles from Kumasi to Accra crashed into two vehicles at Mankron in the Suhum Kraboa Coaltar District.
Mr Kwaku Afari, Assembly member for Asuboa electoral area announced this, said the truck lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the two vehicles.
He said the bodies of the dead who are yet to be identified have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital pending autopsy.
The Suhum Police, who confirmed the accident, said investigations into the cause of the accident were underway.
The police said a search had been mounted for the arrest of the driver who
is on the run.
