The Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has described the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a man of law and order. Contrary to public perception that Nana Akufo-Addo is arrogant, the Vice President says he rather sees him as a great respecter of hierarchy and the rule of law. Alhaji Aliu made these remarks when the Nana Akufo-Addo paid a courtesy call on him at his official residence in Accra. The Vice President advised Nana Akufo-Addo against hearsay which he said could lead to pettiness, a recipe that can spell the doom of the party at election 2008. He further asked Nana Akufo-Addo to be wary of overnight self styled well wishers of the party who may come up with some wild theories for his consideration. Alhaji Aliu expressed admiration for Nana Addo's style of campaign so far. The Vice President renewed his total and absolute support for the Presidential candidate. For his part, Nana Akufo-Addo said the visit is to renew his friendship with the Vice President who he has known for the past 15 years. The NPP Presidential candidate acknowledged the competency and contribution of the Vice President towards the success of President Kufuor's administration. As the Vice President, Nana Akufo-Addo says Alhaji Aliu plays a significant role in his campaign plans and will work with all talents to ensure total victory for the party in December 2008.
