The Chiefs and people of Gomoa-Asebu, near Winneba-Junction in the Central Region have launched a GH¢10,000 Educational Fund to support brilliant but needy children. The Gomoa-Asebuhene (chief of Gomoa-Asebu) Nana Kojo Beedu and a member of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council are the life patrons of the Fund. Nine distinguished personalities in the community were appointed trustees to administer the fund. Resident and non-resident citizens would contribute GH¢5 annually to support the fund. The fund was launched as part of activities marking this year's annual Afahye Festival. The Gomoa-Asebuhene praised the initiators of the fund and asked all Asebu citizens to contribute their quota towards to promote the objectives of the fund. On behalf of members of the Asebuman Educational Fund, Mrs. Catherine Odum-Arhin expressed their appreciation to the Chiefs and people of the community for the confidence and trust reposed in the Trustees and assured them that they would do their best.
