Ghana has been handed an injury boost ahead of the African Cup of Nations after Black Stars midfielder, Laryea Kingston, was passed fit to play.

Kingston, who picked up an injury while playing for his club, Hearts in the Scottish League last year, was expected to have made a late recovery that threatened his participation at the Cup of Nations, but the midfielder has returned to full fitness, training with his colleagues at their Abu Dhabi camp base ahead of the competition.

And his return to full fitness has lifted the spirits of not only the entire team, but especially team coach, Claude Le Roy.

'Laryea is back and training at full scale without any problem,' Le Roy told the Football Association’s official newspaper, GFA News on Monday.

'He is running and kicking just like any other player and we are very delighted about that.'

'Laryea understands the task ahead and he concentrated on his recovery. He has been very dedicated and is very committed to the Cup of Nations.'

The Gyan brothers, Asamoah and Baffuor who were both carrying minor injuries have also joined in full training sessions.

Aside players returning from the treatment room, Le Roy has expressed satisfaction at the attitude of the team and the progress made at the Abu Dhabi camp.

'The response of the 26 players around is perfect and I am very satisfied with our progress.

'They are very dedicated to what lies ahead and everybody is putting in an effort.

'I have told them that success at the Cup of Nations will be for them and failure will be for me so they all understand the situation perfectly.'
