The Bank of Ghana has reminded the banks, non-bank financial institutions and the general public that the use of cedi cheques shall cease with effect from the close of business today the 31st of December, 2007.
A statement issued by the Bank in Accra says with effect from January 1, 2008 only Ghana Cedi cheques will be accepted for transactions. Customers are therefore advised to contact their bankers to issue them with the Ghana Cedi cheques.
