Onetouch Beautifies Roundabouts

As part of efforts to beautify the nation's capital, Onetouch, the mobile division of Ghana Telecom with nationwide coverage has embarked on beautification of some major roundabouts in Accra.

According to the Marketing Manager of Onetouch, Stephen Badu, the roundabouts at Cantonments, Dansoman, Nima and the La interchange in Accra have all been incorporated into the beautification programme being embarked upon by the company as part of its social responsibility.

Beautification works at the above-mentioned roundabouts include both civil and horticultural, at the end of which they would then be named after some illustrious personalities who left their footprints in the sands of time in terms of patriotism.

Mr. Badu said work at all those roundabouts had reached different stages, and that the structures would be unveiled by the Mayor of Accra, Stanley Nii Adjiri Blankson on completion.

But even before Onetouch completes those projects, the company has taken a giant step to inject some beauty into the city by sponsoring renovation and lighting of the fountain at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, which has been out of working condition since February 2007.

Mr. Badu said sponsorship of the work at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle marks the genesis of a major beautification project to be carried out by Onetouch at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

“Our sponsorship of the lighting and renovation of the fountain are Onetouch's contribution towards beautifying the Circle,” he said.
“It's just a precursor of Onetouch beautification of the major cities and roundabouts in the country. It shows Onetouch's social responsibility in caring for the environment,” he remarked.

A cursory observation indicates that the new look Onetouch has given the Kwame Nkrumah Circle is so bewitching that heads of motorists, passengers and commuters turn anytime they find themselves at the nerve centre of Accra.
