THE WEIJA MTTU is investigating an accident involving two motor vehicles in the early hours of Thursday, December 20 which destroyed traffic lights.

According to eye-witnesses, several people also sustained injuries of varying degrees.

The accident occurred at a time when there was a power outage in the area and no traffic police at the major intersection.
Its cause is yet to be established.

Identities of the vehicles and passengers were not available, as the accident scene was cleared in less than 20 minutes for traffic to resume.

Apart from the two newly erected traffic lights, an electricity pole was also destroyed.

The Weija police were not ready to release any information on the incident until last Monday, December 24, because according to them, the investigator was on duty at the University of Ghana, Legon, for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Delegates' congress.
